The Indie Writer project, Week 1
A very warm welcome to the first week of The Indie Writer project.
Over the next 10 weeks, if you write for just 10 minutes each week, by the end you will have your very own personal blog (aka: online journal).
Doesn't that sound pretty cool?
Each week, I'll provide the “theme” + helpful prompts to write to. All you need to do is sit down and write.
Before we begin, a gentle but important reminder...
Join the *free* indie writer community 👥
There's a blogging community especially for writers taking part in this project.
If you haven't done so already, it'll take just a minute to get your unique GoogleDoc link using this short form.
If you have already signed up, and are experiencing any issues with accessing your link, just hit reply to this email and we'll get it sorted.
Okay, now take a breath, or a little stretch... and let's get writing!
⭐ Week 1: theme + prompts
👉 theme: “my writing journey”
You can either write free-hand to the above theme, or below are some writing prompts designed to help your words flow.
[If you're a member of the community, put a title of “my writing journey” under blog entry #1, and then scribble your words underneath]
👉 writing prompts
- Do you remember the first thing you ever wrote that felt meaningful?
- Do you have a book you'd like to write one day?
- Why have you chosen to take part in The Indie Writer project?
⏱️ Week 1 challenge write on the theme of “my writing journey” for 10 minutes. use the writing prompts above if you need them.
Some final words...
I would encourage you to get your new blog off to a flying start, by:
- Completing this challenge right now, or - Scheduling it in your calendar this week
You might be surprised at what ten minutes of writing can do for you.
See you next Sunday for Week 2,
Jas
