Introducing a conversation with my introvert writer friend Lauren Sapala, on our experiences with being sensitive and how we manage our sensitivity.
Lauren and I have enjoyed catching up and recording a monthly conversation in recent months. (You can find our previous conversations on the INF Club podcast, or Lauren’s youtube channel - for the latter, you’ll have to scroll down and look out for the videos with the orange border).
This time around, we talked about our experiences with being sensitive, and how we have learned to manage this sensitivity.
As well as identifying as being ‘highly sensitive’ (HSPs), we both happen to be introverts, with Lauren being an INFJ and me being an INFP according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
We chose ‘sensitivity’ as our theme for this conversation, inspired by a fellow digital nomad who asked me how I’ve learned to manage my sensitivity, whilst I was in away Madeira over the Summer.
Amongst other things, we talk about:
- How we feel in our bodies
- Counteracting screentime and computer/phone-scrolling
- Managing & responding to emails
- Why Lauren says “no” a lot / the books we’re currently reading
- Giving ourselves *permission* to have what we need
