In case you happened to miss it, I made quite a big announcement recently.
I don’t say this lightly, it felt like a pretty big deal. Not only did I share it on here and social platforms — but even on my WhatsApp story, something I don’t use too often.
Someone reminded me that I actually “came out” about my neurodivergence, albeit “privately”, earlier in the year. It was through a recorded chat I had with Laurence when he stayed over at my house earlier in the year, and I opened up on my struggles. I hit ‘send’ on that post, but then unpublished it (so it went out to email subscribers but didn’t stay “online”). This was for various reasons, some of which I may go into in a future post. To be honest, when I recorded it, I was still in quite a zombie-like state.
For now, let me know if you’ve since joined my email list and would like to hear it, I’d be happy to share it with you, privately.

Some of you might also recall the writing programme I ran two summers ago, around the time when I started noticing my ADHD traits.
“You need a thing, a schtick, to get people around”, my friend Tom told me.
And that thing ended up becoming The Indie Writer project, one where we wrote together for 10 minutes each week. A few dozen of us took part, and the words sharing during that time were pretty remarkable. I was mildly blown away.
I still had a long way to go when it came to understanding my ADHD (and even acknowledged if/that I had it); to be honest, I still do. We’re always learning.
But for sure this whole episode (yikes, bad pun) warrants a voicenote at some point. Watch this space.
Anyway, what I wanted to share with you today is that I’m renaming my book.
Yup, the very same book I “released” two weeks ago.
As in, changing the title after I’ve already been sharing it with readers.
(I was briefly thinking how on earth I’d navigate this situation if I was working with a traditional agent/publisher on this book project. I think we’d probably have been a nightmare for one another).
That said, the people I do feel accountable to are the handful of kindred spirits who are contributors to the book.
They’ve been really understanding (thank you all), and my cover designer, Jasmine, has already produced a new cover.
And so I present to you…
THE ADHD WRITER
As I shared on my instagram story yesterday, it’s been a long road to arrive here 🙏
Yet, I’m so grateful to have zigzagged along this path.
Thank you for walking it with me,
Jasraj x
PS. The book is being published under my company, Indie Writer Press, and in collaboration with FIVE RIVERS, the new venture I’m building to help bloggers and creators sustain themselves. Watch this space… especially if you’re an ADHDer 🧠
